Many people have privat cars. What do they use them for?
Some people go to work and back home by car. Some go to their countryhouses. Some use the car just because they like driving.
During the years of soviet power russians thought of the car like a luxuary thing, privilege of rich people and big bosses.
What is now? Almost every person can afford the car with a consumer credit. It's so easy to buy the car nowadays. You just come to the autosaloon, point the certain model by your index finger, give your passport and you become a happy car owner within an hour. It's easy.
On one hand it is not bad. It's more comfortable to go everywhere by car instead of going by public transport. Newertheless there are some advantiges in usage the public transport. Now I'm going to get you familiar with them.
First of all it is an air contamination problem. If you take a look at the air in our cities you will agree that it is very dirty. If I go somewhere by car I make the situation worse.
Now I ponder you'll call me paranoid. Nobody who has the car won't take the air pollution problem into concideration.
Secondly, traffic jams and parking problems. Nobody can deny that driving through a downtown during the rush hour isn't a big pleasure. Even if you are carefull enough how about some wrecless drivers pretending to be Micael Shumaher. They respect nobody and nothing.
Thirdly, going somewhere by bus I have a time to chech my e-mail box, write some answers, communicate to friends in some social networks. It's a great opportunity to read some book or listening to the music or English lessons.
The last but not least reason for using the public transport is the money saving. It's much cheaper to go to the work by bus then to go by your car.
Now I believe you can ask me a question why I have the car if I don't use it every day. The ansver is easy. Sometimes it is much easy to use my car instead of the bus. For example, when I need to bring something havy from one point to other, when I go to picnic with friends, when I go to my countryside house. In these cases the car is more comfortable.
